Our Town:
Chugwater, Wyoming
Wyoming is a small-town state and Chugwater is definitely a small town located in Southeast Wyoming. Chugwater has a very distinctive name and has been historically traced back to an old Indian Legend that the easiest way to kill buffalo was to drive them off one of the bluffs in the area and the word “chug” was used to describe the noise of the buffalo falling when it hit the water below.
You can find our cute little town right off I-25 along the Chugwater Creek with a population of a couple of hundred or so. We have a lot of heart in our community and love to share our history with everyone who passes through.
We may be a little town, but we have a huge ranching community here and deep rooted history that is very interesting.
Stop on by and see for yourself.
