Use Chugwater Beef Co. ground beef in our first recipe!
Nonno’s Spaghetti Bolognese!
Ingredients:
1 box Spaghetti (no. 12 Preferably Barilla or DeCecco Brand)
1 Lb Chugwater Beef Co Ground Beef
1 28 oz can Italian whole peeled tomatoes (or diced tomatoes)
1 Medium onion chopped fine
3-4 cloves garlic minced fine
1 tsp olive oil (for beef)
2 tbsp olive oil (for onions & garlic)
1 cup grated Parmesan Reggiano cheese (imported Italian)
Salt & pepper to taste
Instructions:
Brown beef in 1 tsp olive oil til cooked (no pink) breaking up as it cooks
Drain beef and transfer to a bowl
In the same pan add 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
Add chopped onions and minced garlic - sauté till golden and soft
Add tomatoes to the pan, mashing them down cooking for 20 minutes
Add salt and pepper to taste
Add the cooked beef into the sause and cook for 15-20 minutes (low to medium heat)
Bring water (6 quarts) to a boil, add salt to taste
Add spaghetti to water, cooking for 9-10 min stirring occasionally (do not overcook - make sure it's "al dente")
Drain spaghetti, then add spaghetti to the sauce - slowly stirring to combine.
Turn Off the Heat and add 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese to the pan stirring to combine.
Serve on flat plates - use remaining grated parmesan to the dish and serve
